Barclays Bank in the United Kingdom installed more than 7,694 check and document readers by Soricon Corp. The new equipment is part of a project to automate the bank' s transaction system.
The readers will automate the collection of code line data from checks and documents at the teller window.
Soricon received an initial purchase order worth approximately $3 million in May 1993. A second purchase order valued at $775,000 was received in January.
Soricon, headquartered in Boulder, Colo., provides check and docu- merit readers to automate the data capture process.
