Emerging markets debt volume up 170% in '93.

NEW YORK -- The Emerging Markets Traders Association said trading volume in emerging markets debt worldwide rose by 170% in 1993 to $1.9 trillion, up from $733 billion in 1992.

Trading in emerging markets derivatives rose nearly 275% in 1993, with trading in debt options rising to $57.4 billion from $15.3 billion last year, the association said.
