NEW YORK -- National Westminster Bank USA said it reached- an agreement with. a nonprofit group to expand banking services in Bronx communities.
The National Westminster Bancorp subsidiary made a commitment to open a branch in the South Bronx and work with the community group, Inner City Press/Community on the Move, on a plan to serve that neighborhood and parts of Upper Manhattan.
The activities will include microloan and homesteading programs to aid small business and housing renovations.
Matthew Lee, executive director of ICP, said, "Natwest is to be commended for going beyond, in this instance, the strict requirements of the Community Reinvestment Act."
