Community investment data base available.

American Bankers Association members can now call a community investment data base to get new lending ideas.

"Community Investment Profiles" details community development programs started by banks, community development corporations, and other financial consortiums around the country.

Each profile lists typical loan terms, types of loans made, and characteristics of the community served, and contains an abstract describing the program and a contact name and phone number for additional information.

The data base currently contains 200 profiles. To access it, ABA members can call Elli Dumont at 1-800-338-0626, extension 522, and describe the type of program the bank wants to research. Bankers can get up to five profiles free. Each additional printout costs $10.
