Card Briefs: Signature Group Opens Telemarketing Centers

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - The Signature Group, a company that markets value- added services to cardholders, has opened two new telemarketing centers in California.

The centers will add about 200 jobs to local markets in Norwalk and Fullerton.

The Signature Group, owned by the retail conglomerate Montgomery Ward, places over 50 million calls each year and will exceed that number with the two new centers, said a spokeswoman.

The marketing firm provides services to the seven million Montgomery Ward cardholders, but derives 40% of its business from its 200 other clients, including Citibank, American Express, Mobil Oil Corp., Texaco, and General Electric.
