In Brief: Credit Suisse Leading $2B Acquisition Deal

NEW YORK - Credit Suisse has won the mandate to lead a $2 billion acquisition financing for Computer Associates International Inc.'s purchase of Legent Corp..

The boards of directors at both companies approved the $1.78 billion merger, or $47.95 per share, clearing the way for the largest acquisition in the history of the computer software industry.

Credit Suisse has underwritten the entire loan, and will act as administrative agent and arranger.

Coagents slots are expected to be marketed to the company's existing bank group, as well as several other banks.

A bank meeting is anticipated in several weeks.

Although terms were not available, a five-year deal is expected, with pricing around the London interbank offered rate plus 30 basis points.
