Tech Bytes: CUNA Hops on Web With Own Home Page

MADISON, Wis. - The Credit Union National Association Inc. is hoping its new presence on the Internet will attract new customers for its members.

CUNA has joined the growing number of financial institutions and affiliated organizations publishing so-called "home pages" on the multimedia annex of the Internet known as the World Wide Web.

Computer users can access the CUNA home page through most World Wide Web servers using the search words "credit unions" or "banks."

CUNA's home page contains a wide range on information about products and services consumers can get from credit unions. Articles from the home page, drawn in part from a magazine published by CUNA, address issues like negotiating for the best deal on a new car.

Consumers who wish to open an account at a credit union can also get phone numbers of state credit union leagues, which can help in finding a credit union for the consumer to join.
