American Savings Names Executives

American Savings Bank, Honolulu, has promoted Arlene Nakamoto and Ralph Nakatsuka to the newly created positions of executive vice president.

Ms. Nakamoto, formerly senior vice president of marketing, has been named executive vice president for sales and marketing. She will be responsible for all branches, the bank's marketing function, its sales- related subsidiaries, savings operations, and retirement services. Ms. Nakamoto has also been named to the bank's board of directors.

Mr. Nakatsuka has become executive vice president for lending and finance. He had been senior vice president and chief financial officer. All of the bank's lending functions will report to him, including residential lending, retail lending, loan servicing, and loan adjustment. Accounting and legal functions will also report to him. He is a member of the bank's board of directors.
