Roundup: Meridian Slates 19 Branches for Closing

READING, Penn. - Meridian Bancorp said it will close 19 of its 319 branches in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. The move was part of the bank's restructuring program announced last month.

A total of 13 Pennsylvania branches, five New Jersey branches, and one in Delaware were slated for the consolidation, which will largely take place in November.

In June, Meridian said it expected to close a total of 24 branches. However, no consolidation plans have been made beyond the initial 19 branch closings, the bank said.
