Trust Company Of Ga. Names Robert R. Long Chief Executive

Robert R. Long, president of Trust Company of Georgia and Trust Company Bank, Atlanta, has been elected to the additional post of chief executive officer.

Mr. Long assumes the helm from Edward P. Gould, who will continue as chairman of both boards. Mr. Gould has held the chairman and CEO positions since 1989.

The change is being made to provide for an orderly succession of management as Mr. Gould approaches retirement.

Mr. Long joined Trust Company Bank, Atlanta, in 1967, and has held numerous positions. From 1973 to 1977, he was executive vice president of Trust Company Bank in Savannah. He returned to Atlanta in 1977. He was elected executive vice president of the Atlanta bank in 1978, responsible for personal and small business banking, branches, installment loans, credit cards, marketing, factoring, and bank operations. In 1985, he was elected president of Trust Company Bank, Atlanta, and in 1992 to the additional post of president of Trust Company of Georgia.
