Federal Reserve Names Executive

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago has appointed Elijah Brewer 3d as senior economist and assistant vice president in the research department. He is responsible for the department's bank holding company casework activities.

Mr. Brewer assumes his new duties following a 16-month leave of absence from the bank, during which he served as associate professor of finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

His research has focused on policy issues relating to banking, financial markets, and the effects of derivative use.
