SHORT TAKES: Fidelity Hires Chief Of Sales and Training

Mutual fund giant Fidelity Investments has hired Donald Holborn to oversee the training of salespeople who deliver products to various distribution channels, including banks.

Mr. Holborn fills a newly created position, national sales planning manager at Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Co. He will oversee sales and training for bank broker-dealers, bank trust departments, broker- dealers, and insurance companies.

Mr. Holborn comes over from Chemical Banking Corp.'s mortgage originations business, where he served as a sales manager.

Boston-based Fidelity is the nation's largest mutual fund company, managing $324 billion of assets.
