Roundup: Finance Chief at Bay View Capital Resigns

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Bay View Capital Corp., the parent of $3.1 billion-asset Bay View Federal Bank, announced the resignation of its chief financial officer and treasurer, Bruce E. Moyer, pending the naming of a replacement.

The company said Mr. Moyer will be pursuing other interests. He submitted his resignation to the newly installed president, Edward H. Sondker.

Bay View's former chief executive officer, John Brubaker, left in April. The company has been under pressure from Michael Price, the institutional investor who also recently targeted Chase Manhattan Corp. for its lagging shareholder value, and is widely seen as a takeover candidate.

Bay View said it intends to conduct a search for a new CFO that it hopes to conclude within two months.
