Tech Bytes: Dow Puts Video Service Directory on the Internet

NEW YORK - The Dow Jones Investor Network, a video news service that transmits directly to traders' desktop computers, announced last week that it had launched an on-line information directory via the Internet's World Wide Web.

Officials at the Dow Jones & Co. subsidiary said its "home page" on the World Wide Web - the multimedia segment of the Internet - allows users to view daily broadcast schedules, search its archives to order a videotape, and even download sample video clips or transcripts of selected programs.

"It is of interest for our customers and prospective customers that we provide them with easy, on-line access to our daily broadcast schedule, historical video archives, and general product information," said Martin Schenker, managing editor of Dow Jones' Multimedia Division. "The Internet is a great way to accomplish this."

The Dow Jones home page address is http://djin.com.
