In Brief: AT&T Unit Adds 47 Preferred-Lender Areas

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - AT&T Capital's Small Business Lending Corp. said it had been awarded preferred-lender status by the Small Business Administration in 47 additional U.S. districts.

The designation was effective Aug. 26.

Earlier this year the SBA granted preferred-lender status to AT&T Capital's Small Business Lending Corp. in three other districts. The company said it now has preferred-lending status in 50 of the SBA's 67 districts - the second-highest number of district designations.

AT&T Capital's small-business unit is licensed by the SBA as one of 14 nonbank lenders.

For fiscal 1994, the unit provided about $90 million in SBA-guaranteed loans to small businesses throughout the United States - the fifth-largest SBA lender in terms of dollar volume for that year.
