FORT WORTH, Tex. - American Airlines will offer a program that grants frequent-flier miles in conjunction with home-mortgage payments.
The carrier said participating financial institutions would reward new customers with an AAdvantage mile for each dollar of mortgage interest paid.
American said it had started selecting participating mortgage lenders and that the program, called AAdvantage Program for Mortgages, would begin late this year or early next year. The carrier said it had invited mortgage lenders to a briefing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area later this month.
The company said the program was being jointly developed by American Airlines' AAdvantage department and by AMR Investment Services Inc.
