North American Fills New Post Of Production Asset Manager

North American Mortgage Co. has named Dorothy Beattie to the newly created post of senior vice president for production asset management.

Ms. Beattie will oversee risk management of the servicing portfolio, inventory management of loans, and document management. She will also direct the flow of information to the branch system.

Robert E. Allen, executive vice president in charge of loan production, said Ms. Beattie had "proved her financial savvy by finding creative ways to maximize the servicing value of the loans produced by this company."

While North American has been selling all of its servicing rights recently, it still has a portfolio of about $15 billion.

Ms. Beattie has been with North American since 1991, most recently as vice president of portfolio asset management. Earlier, she worked in the trading and treasury departments of Bank of America in New York and San Francisco.

North American is the second-largest independent mortgage banking company and 10th overall.

PNC Mortgage Corp., Vernon Hills, Ill., has named two new officers.

They are Mark B. Dillon, who becomes senior vice president of strategic planning, and Thomas A. Jeswald, vice president of human resources.

In addition to his planning function, Mr. Dillon will take on the critical task of managing cross-selling opportunities between PNC Mortgage and PNC Bank.

Cross-selling has been a hot area in recent months, with many banks attracted to acquiring mortgage assets because of what they see as a rich lode of customers for a big menu of nonmortgage financial products.

Before joining PNC Mortgage, Mr. Dillon held various positions at Michigan National Bank, Farmington Hills, Mich. He also worked as an international account officer for Chase Manhattan Bank, New York.

Mr. Jeswald had been director of human resources planning at R.R. Donnelley & Sons.
