Fifth Third Promotes 4 to Executive VP

Michael D. Baker, P. Michael Brumm, Michael K. Keating, and Robert P. Niehaus have been promoted to executive vice president at Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati.

Mr. Baker has responsibility for all consumer lending, including mortgage and installment loans, consumer leasing, and credit cards. He also directs all corporate operations functions, including payment services, bank card processing, item processing, and Midwest Payment System operations. He is a 21-year veteran of Fifth Third.

Mr. Brumm, Fifth Third Bancorp's chief financial officer, heads the lead bank's treasury management, accounting, and tax areas. He joined the bank in 1966 and has worked in a variety of areas including the trust and investment group, operations, affiliate administration, and commercial lending,

Mr. Keating has responsibility for Fifth Third's trust and investment group, as well as staff functions, marketing, legal, human resources, facilities management, and security. He joined the bank in 1986.

Mr. Niehaus has responsibility for retail banking and affiliate administration, which encompasses the company's 10 affiliate banks and network of 370 full-service banking centers throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Florida. After establishing benchmarks for new business development in banking center management, he assumed responsibility for the holding company's acquisitions and retail expansion efforts.
