Card Briefs: Premier's Affinity Card Aids La. University

BATON ROUGE, La. - Premier Bank said it will issue an affinity credit card for Grambling State University of Monroe, La. Premier will donate $5 and a percentage of the purchase volume to the university and its GSU Foundation.

The Grambling State University Visa comes with a 9.9% introductory rate through March 31, 1996. Cardholders can earn a rebate of as much as 1% on purchases they make with the card, which will be credited to the cards on their anniversary date.

Premier Bank said it is offering the card as part of its Excellence in Education program. The subsidiary of Premier Bancorp has other programs, such as Investment in Education, that allows Louisiana schools to earn points toward the purchase of computers and other equipment.
