Card briefs: Equifax Offers On-Line Litigation Service

ATLANTA - Equifax Inc. and McNeily, Rosenfeld & Rubenstein, a Washington law firm, have joined forces to form a collection and litigation service that automatically transfers accounts from Equifax collectors to a national on-line network of attorneys.

The service, Litigation Access Web, eliminates the need for lenders to use separate providers for litigation and collections.

Equifax sorts delinquent accounts, sending some to litigation. For example, those 120 days past due or with balances over $1,000 might be candidates for litigation services, based on a lender's criteria.

Accounts sent to litigation are tracked and managed by attorneys working through a network of more than 200 law firms in all 50 states.
