Citicorp Picks Steffen As Vice Chairman

Citicorp has moved up another executive in its ranks, naming senior executive vice president Christopher J. Steffen to the post of vice chairman.

Mr. Steffen joined the New York bank's senior management in 1993 when he was appointed a director.

Prior to joining Citicorp, Mr. Steffen served as chief financial officer with Eastman Kodak Co. and Honeywell Inc., and as vice president and controller at Chrysler Corp. The Detroit-born banker was also a former vice president of finance at Hyatt Corp.

Mr. Steffen is the third executive to be moved into a senior position at Citicorp since the start of the year.

The bank earlier this month named David J. Browning as executive vice president for investment products and distribution, and Alvaro A. C. de Souza executive vice president for cross-border finance.
