IBM to Use Verifact's Check Reading Tools

International Verifact Inc., has signed a license agreement for its check- reading software with International Business Machines Corp. As a result, the IVI-developed software will be built into IBM electronic cash register systems, giving retailers the option of accepting and verifying checks at comparable speed and efficiency to card transactions. "We are pleased to have established this license agreement with IBM as we feel it is confirmation that our check reading technology is considered to be the best in the industry," said Jamie Bethea, vice president of strategic accounts, IVI USA.
