In Brief: Hewlett-Packard Aims Home Page at Banks

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Hewlett-Packard Co. recently joined the growing throng of vendors and financial service companies setting up shop on the World Wide Web.

In its push to capture business among financial service providers, the computer hardware company has developed a site aimed at retail banks, insurance companies, and other financial businesses.

The site, part of the company's larger Access HP home page on the Internet, includes information about the company's work on computer system security, electronic mail and messaging, network and systems management, and object-oriented programming.

Hewlett-Packard has worked with a handful of banks and financial services companies in the arena of electronic access, including Security First Network Bank.
