Citi Goes Outside For U.S. Asset Chief

Citibank has hired an outsider to oversee domestic investments at its $70 billion asset management unit.

On Jan. 1, Lawrence P. Kleblusek will assume the post of U.S. chief investment officer for Citibank Global Asset Management. He will oversee both investment policy and management of U.S. institutional assets.

Mr. Keblusek, a 25-year industry veteran, was most recently senior vice president and director of portfolio management for the Northern Trust Co., Chicago.

He will replace A. Dwight Hyde Jr., who will retire at yearend.

Mr. Keblusek will report to Neville W. Bowen, who heads Citibank Global Asset Management.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Keblusek held senior investment management positions with Maryland National Bank and the National Bank of Washington. He holds an MBA and an undergraduate degree in economics from the George Washington University in Washington.
