RogersCasey & Associates is marketing a data base that compares and evaluates investment managers and products for bank master trust departments.
InvestWorks - as the data base is called - generates reports on more than 3,200 investment products with 140 benchmarks, such as Treasury bill rates and the S&P 500, for 32 different investment styles.
Master trust departments can offer customized reports to their clients with desktop access to RogersCasey's windows-based software.
The program, which costs $499 per copy, is now offered on a quarterly basis on disk and will be put out on a monthly basis electronically in 1996.
RogersCasey, the country's second-largest investment management consulting firm, normally sells the information to pension plan managers.
But the Darien, Conn., firm realized that its 20-year-old data base contains the same materials master trust clients want. So it is pitching InvestWorks as cost-efficient, prepackaged information for clients.
