Card briefs: Magic Line Offering Off-Line Debit Program

DEARBORN, Mich. - Magic Line Inc., a major electronic banking network in the Midwest, has introduced an off-line point of sale debit card processing program.

It offers connections to both MasterCard International's MasterMoney and Visa International's Visa Check.

These cards provide access to checking account funds at 12 million Visa or MasterCard acceptance locations worldwide. The cards can also be used to obtain cash from automated teller machines.

The program will be available to more than 650 financial institutions and eight million cardholders in the Michigan-based Magic Line network, starting in the first quarter of this year.
