Card briefs: Amex Goes Interactive, With America Online

NEW YORK - American Express Co. has launched Expressnet, the company's first electronic interactive service, on America Online.

Expressnet offers an array of member and travel services. It enables enrolled American Express cardholders to check the status of their accounts, pay their bills, make travel reservations, enroll in rewards programs, and take advantage of special airline, hotel, car rental, restaurant, retail, and entertainment offers.

The service also allows consumers to apply for the card online.

In addition, Expressnet offers a global guide, giving America Online subscribers the ability to search for travel information across multiple data bases, including Fodor's Worldview, Frommer's Online Travel Service, Travel and Leisure magazine, and American Express Travel Guides.
