Card Briefs: Shawmut Puts ATMs In N.H. Ski Centers

HARTFORD, Conn. - Shawmut National Corp. said its New Hampshire subsidiary has installed automated teller machines at five ski locations in that state: Attitash Bear Peak, Bretton Woods, Gunstock, Loon Mountain, and Waterville Valley.

Installed in January, the Shawmut service has been "well received by our skiers" and "used aggressively," said Nancy Clark, vice president of marketing at Attitash Bear Peak.

George E. Russell Jr., president of the Granite State subsidiary, said the ATM program goes hand in hand with "Ski New Hampshire with Shawmut," a joint marketing campaign with the state's resorts, to attract the bank's customers. In addition to radio, newspaper, and point of sale advertising, the campaign offers ski-season discounts on lodging, dining, and shopping.
