In Brief: 1,200 Expected at Bank Administration Confab

The Bank Administration Institute expects to draw 1,200 people to its audit, compliance, and security conference in New Orleans March 14 to 16.

Michel Kruse, senior executive vice president of Chase Manhattan Corp., will give the keynote speech on market and regulatory changes in the banking business.

Other speakers include Edward Furash, chairman of Furash & Co., Griffith Garwood, director of consumer and community affairs at the Federal Reserve Board, and David P. Apgar, senior policy adviser at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

The conference includes about 70 sessions. The compliance track includes topics such as anti-money laundering, mutual funds, credit scoring, and flood insurance.
