In Brief: Community Development School Set for Nov.

The American Bankers Association has added a community development lending school to its roster of educational programs.

The school will be held from Nov. 5 to 9 at the University of Oklahoma, Norman.

Faced with requests from bankers for help in lending to low- and moderate-income communities, the ABA plans to focus classes on how to make these loans profitably.

Topics will include building partnerships, organizing development programs, and legislative updates.

Students taking an extra two-day course also will receive instruction on credit evaluation, including financial statement and cash-flow analysis.

The school costs $995 for members and $1,445 for nonmembers. The review session costs an additional $480 for members and $630 for nonmembers.

Fees include room, board, and course materials. For more information, call 800-338-0626
