Card Briefs: Wachovia Exec Replaces His Boss on Visa Board

SAN FRANCISCO - Doug W. King, executive vice president of Wachovia Corp., was elected a director of Visa U.S.A.

Mr. King replaces Wachovia's chairman, Thomas E. Boland, who is retiring from the Visa board.

Mr. King is also a director of the Consumer Bankers Association, and he has been a member of the Federal Reserve Operations Advisory Committee, among other affiliations during his 31 year banking career.

His responsibilities at the Winston-Salem, N.C., banking company include bank card services, Wachovia Mortgage, marketing, and retail banking support.
