In Brief: Bank in Minnesota Offers Collateral Exams

ST. PAUL - American Bank said it is offering a new collateral examination service for community banks in the upper Midwest.

The service, American Asset Review, provides community banks with confidential reviews of their business borrowers' pledged assets on an as- needed basis.

Community bankers may want on-site evaluations of borrowers' accounts receivable and inventory collateral, loan/lease portfolios, or equipment floor-plan accounts. American Asset Review will help the lender protect against loan losses resulting from inappropriate collateral reliance, American Bank said. The service will also validate trade assets as viable sources of repayment and will provide evidence of underwriting due diligence.
