EDITOR'S NOTE:

Since Management Strategies was launched in January 1993, it has regularly provided coverage of banks' reengineering initiatives.

Now we've undergone a little reengineering of our own. This issue marks the debut of the newly redesigned Management Strategies, which will now be published every four weeks.

Readers can still expect in-depth stories on how banks are using technology to improve customer service, gain efficiencies, and reduce overhead.

But editorial coverage will be expanded to include a wider range of management issues. In this issue, for example, read how Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is building a technological infrastructure as it develops a full-fledged investment bank.

Readers can also look forward to special issues of Management Strategies that will tackle important topics - such as the future of the branch, employee training, and outsourcing - in a series of stories focusing on the experiences of different banks.

Finally, two sections that have appeared in this supplement - New Products and Contracts - will now be published every Monday in the technology section of the newspaper.
