Card Briefs: Great Lakes' ATMs In 22 Target Stores

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Great Lakes Bancorp said it has installed automated teller machines at 22 Target retail stores in the southern half of Michigan.

The installations increased Great Lakes' ATM network by 48%. The company already had 34 ATMs on bank premises and 12 others off site.

"Target stores provide central locations and easy, daily access for thousands of Great Lakes customers," said chief executive Bob Delonis. "And anyone with any bank's ATM card will find the ready availability of cash while shopping appealing."

The machines also accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express cards.

The $2.7 billion-asset Great Lakes handles ATM transactions free for its own customers and those of TCF Bank-Michigan, with which it expects to merge early this year.
