In Brief: Citicorp a Co-Leader In British Rail Loan

LONDON - Citicorp is one of three banks tapped to lead financing for London & Continental Railways Ltd., a consortium competing to build and operate a high-speed rail link between London and the new tunnel under the English Channel.

London & Continental did not say how large the loan would be, but estimated the cost of building the 67-mile rail link at between $4 billion and $4.6 billion.

UBS and Rabobank will join Citicorp as lead banks to London & Continental.
