In Brief: Camco Financial Net Drops 24% for Year

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio - Camco Financial Corp. earned $2.5 million for the year, down 24% from a year ago.

The $325 million-asset savings bank holding company earned $1.54 a share, compared with $2.02 a share in 1993.

The company, which owns three savings banks, a title insurance agency, and two mortgage banking companies, said its assets for the year were up 17%. Loans receivable jumped 36% to $261 million and deposits rose 6% to $267 million.

Camco closed its secondary stock offering on Dec. 28, grossing more than $3.3 million, and secured a listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
