Whalen Leads Connecticut Bankers Group

Jerome J. Whalen, president and chief executive officer of First National Bank, Litchfield, Conn., is the new chairman of the Connecticut Bankers Association, Hartford.

He succeeds Daniel R. Dennis Jr., chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Norwich Savings Society.

Mr. Whalen was first vice chairman of the association. He is first vice president of the American Institute of Banking and a member of the American Bankers Association's education council.

Elected first vice chairman of the state association was Richard P. Meduski, president, treasurer, and chief executive officer of Savings Bank of Manchester.

Gary C. Smith, president and chief executive officer of Ridgefield Bank, was elected second vice chairman of the association.
