Cards briefs: Customer Verification Data Base Enhanced

PRINCETON, N.J. - National Information Bureau said it has enhanced its Business Analysis and Customer Approval System - known as Bacas - with on-line data base services from Metromail Corp.

Including Metromail, lenders using Bacas can get demographic information on 144 million individuals and 16.5 million businesses to verify application names, addresses, phone numbers, and other variables.

"Through Bacas, users can now access a data base that instantly verifies applicant data and alerts credit lenders to false information at the point of sale," said Harry Cutts, president of National Information Bureau. "In addition, Metromail provides an extensive search program that helps lenders locate delinquent customers who have changed their addresses. This program contains updated telephone directory, address correction, and other information to provide businesses with the latest customer whereabouts."
