Money Fund Assets Set Another Record

Money market mutual fund assets hit a record $656.78 billion in the week that ended April 5 - the second peak in three weeks.

The 0.9% gain, from $650.76 billion the previous week, was concentrated in funds for retail investors.

Retail funds held $466.08 billion, a gain of $4.66 billion in the week. That includes $369.29 billion in taxable funds, up $3.18 billion, and $96.79 billion in tax-exempt funds, a $1.48 billion gain.

On the institutional side, money market fund assets grew to $190.69 billion, up $1.36 billion.
