Antinori Software Acquires Datasoft, A Developer of Compliance Systems

Datasoft Corp., an Atlanta compliance software company, has been acquired by Antinori Software Inc., also based in Atlanta.

Datasoft is best known for its Regulation O compliance product, "Reg O for Windows." The product helps banks keep insider loans within the bank's lending limit.

Antinori develops check fraud and research automation software for its 100 banking customers.

Scott Fairbairn, who founded Datasoft in 1992, will become director of risk management and compliance products at Antinori.

"The advantage of this acquisition is that our products can be better positioned to meet the needs of the broad base of banks that ASI currently services," Mr. Fairbairn said.

Next month, Antinori will introduce "FraudTrack for Windows," which is designed to help banks track and document investigations into fraud, such as check forgeries and unauthorized automated teller machine withdrawals.

The product creates what Mr. Fairbairn calls "an electronic filing cabinet of information."

FraudTrack reminds bankers of follow-up work that needs to be done in an investigation, and generates police reports and affidavits. It tracks personal and business checks, as well as savings withdrawals and ATM transactions.

Ron Antinori, chief executive of the company, said other compliance products are in the works.

"We're looking to develop additional products that will give us a presence in the risk and compliance areas of the bank," Mr. Antinori said.

Although he would not give specifics, Mr. Fairbairn said the products would help banks jump from hand-written to automated compliance.

"Our software is designed for the average bank user who must perform the arduous task of maintaining compliance with federal regulations," Mr. Fairbairn said.
