New York Federal Names Executive

New York Federal Savings Bank has appointed Janet G. Page as vice president and head of its new Small Business Administration loan department.

Vaughan E. James was named SBA loan officer.

The appointments marks the six-year-old thrift's entry into direct business lending. It previously provided funding for a commercial loan company's SBA lending.

For the past two years Ms. Page had been vice president for small business lending at Community Capital Bank in Brooklyn. Before that she was an officer of Franklin-Lamoille Bank in St. Albans, Vt., serving at different times as senior vice president of commercial lending and of retail banking.

Mr. James joined New York Federal after almost three years with the New York Business Development Corp., where he underwrote loans using SBA programs. The corporation is funded by financial institutions to help capitalize small businesses.
