Chemical Financial Names Executives

Chemical Financial Corp. has named G. Joe Swain president and chief executive of Chemical Bank North, Grayling, Mich.

Mr. Swain, formerly executive vice president of Chemical Bank Michigan, Claire, succeeds Ronald M. Phillips, who retired April 1. Mr. Phillips will remain a member of the bank's board of directors.

Mary K. Granberg has been elected chairman, president, and chief executive of Mercantile Bank of Carlyle, Ill., a subsidiary of Mercantile Bancorp, St. Louis.

Ms. Granberg has been with Merantile Bank of Centralia (Ill.) for 19 years. Since 1991, she has been senior vice president, chief financial officer, and operations officer. In that post, she has served on the management committee, and has been responsible for accounting, operations, asset/liability management, and the bank's investment portfolio.
