Card Briefs: Gulf Oil in Card Deal With Wright Express

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Wright Express, a Safecard Services Inc. subsidiary, announced that Gulf Oil's 2,200 retail sites will accept both its Universal Fleet Card and a new Gulf private-label commercial card Wright Express is supporting.

Gulf plans to use the private-label card to replace its paper-based commercial card system. The program should be in place by June.

The Chelsea, Mass.-based company sells gasoline through independent distributors in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

In addition, Sinclair Oil has begun an initial rollout of Wright Express' Fleet Card to its gas stations in Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and Idaho, with further sites to be added soon.

Based in Salt Lake City, Sinclair operates 3,000 stations in 22 states, primarily in the Midwest, Mountain, and Northwest regions.

Wright Express is a leading provider of information processing and financial and information management services to commercial car, van, and truck fleets nationwide.
