Cards Briefs: Continental Air Starts Electronic Ticketing

HOUSTON - Continental Airlines has begun electronic ticketing at counters and departure gates on shuttle flights between Houston and San Antonio, Dallas and New Orleans, with plans to expand nationwide this summer.

The airline said this will save millions of dollars in annual expenses by streamlining passenger document processing; reducing costs for ticket stock, refunds and/or reissues; reducing fraud; and improving accuracy and timeliness of accounting and credit systems.
