Short takes: EBI Funds Renamed 'Invesco Advisors'

Invesco Services, seeking to capitalize on its growing name recognition, has changed the name of its EBI Funds to Invesco Advisors.

The seven funds, with $754 million in assets, are distributed primarily through financial advisers. Atlanta-based Invesco has a selling agreement for the funds with Third National Bank, Nashville, and is negotiating to add SouthTrust Corp., Birmingham, Ala., a spokesman said in confirming the name change, which was made on Monday.

Separately, Invesco Trust Cos., a sister organization in Denver, said John Schroer will become portfolio manager of the $1 billion-asset Strategic Health Sciences Fund starting Feb. 1. Mr. Schroer has been co- manager for two years. His partner, Barry Kurokawa, is leaving Invesco to start an investment management firm.

Both companies are units of Invesco PLC, a London-based global investment management company that has $78.5 billion in assets under management.
