Service to Offer Historical Treasury Data

GovPX Inc., which offers real-time information services, said it is developing one that would provide historical U.S. Treasury prices and volume data.

About 17,000 customers use GovPX's current services, which give real- time prices of Treasury bills, notes, bonds, and government agency securities.

The historical prices and volume data are offered as value added services to news feeds such as Reuters and Bloomberg.

The new service will draw on a data base containing five years' worth of information on securities.

St. Louis-based Global Financial Information Corp., another vendor of real-time securities news and information, plans to provide analytical and graphical applications for the service, which should be commercially available in about one month, according to Ted Hersey, vice president at GovPX.
