Wells Fargo Picks Tubbs to Run Commercial Side In the Northwest

Wells Fargo Bank has named Linda Tubbs as executive vice president of commercial banking for its Northwest division.

She is based in Portland, Ore., and oversees four regional managers, who are responsible for large and midsize commercial customers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska.

Ms. Tubbs was a senior vice president at First Interstate Bank when Wells Fargo & Co., San Francisco, bought it in April. At First Interstate she was a regional manager in commercial banking administration; at Wells she became division manager of the Northwest commercial banking group.

She had joined First Interstate in 1972 as a clerk, and 10 years later became vice president of its corporate banking group. She went on to become manager of its commercial banking center in Portland, senior vice president in commercial banking in 1990, and a commercial banking regional manager in 1991.

MIDWEST

Comerica Bank, Detroit, has hired Brenda C. Seliga as first vice president of the discretionary trust business group in its institutional trust department.

She will be direct trust administration and participant services to companies using the bank's defined-contribution retirement plans.

Ms. Seliga headed BankAmerica Corp.'s master trust business. She was managing director of client services at Continental Bank's master trust division in Chicago when BankAmerica bought Continental, in 1994.

ABN Amro North America, Chicago, has promoted Mary Jo Murphy-Smith to senior vice president of its ABN Amro Services Co.

She will remain chief financial officer of the services unit.

James J. Hamilton, vice president of interest rate risk at ABN Amro North America, was promoted to first vice president. He is a deputy interest rate risk manager.

And David W. Mitchell, vice president of proprietary trading at ABN Amro Securities USA Inc., was promoted to first vice president. He will continue as head of bond arbitrage.

In addition, ABN Amro Securities Inc., the section 20 affiliate of ABN Amro Capital Markets Holding Co., has promoted Wayne H. Jarons, Debra A. Basili, and Judith L. Cook.

Mr. Jarons was promoted to senior vice president. He remains as director of compliance.

Ms. Basili, controller of the fixed-income division, was promoted to first vice president of its capital markets group. She was also named controller of the group.

Ms. Cook was promoted to first vice president of the securities bond department. She continues as head of trading in agency and government securities.

The companies are owned by ABN Amro Holding, Amsterdam.

Citibank Federal Savings Bank, Chicago, has promoted Jeffrey Robinson and Irma Lopez-Heredia to vice president.

Mr. Robinson, who last year became a staffing manager, is responsible for recruitment efforts for all Citicorp and Citibank businesses in the Chicago area. He joined Citibank in New York in 1994 as an assistant vice president and senior recruiter.

Ms. Lopez-Heredia is responsible for Citibank Federal's Community Reinvestment Act goals. She joined the bank last year and was a senior community development officer.
