No. 2 at Boston Co. Unit Giving Up Post to Focus On Duties at Dreyfus

Christopher M. "Kip" Condron will step down as president of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Co. to devote more time to his role as president and chief operating officer of Dreyfus Corp., Mellon Bank Corp. said Monday.

Mr. Condron will remain on the boards of directors of both Boston Safe Deposit and Trust and its parent, Boston Co.

J. David Officer has been named president of the unit and Daniel M. Kilcullen vice chairman. Both are Mellon executive vice presidents with oversight responsibilities at Boston Co. - Mr. Officer in private asset management and Mr. Kilcullen in custody services.

W. Keith Smith, Mellon vice chairman and head of Mellon Trust, continues as chairman and chief executive officer of The Boston Co. and of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust.
