Vendor to Merchants On Internet Hires 2

Electronic Clearing House Inc. of Agoura Hills, Calif., has named Larry L. Thomas as its vice president of information systems and appointed Rick Slater president of Computer Based Controls Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary.

Mr. Thomas, 49, has developed numerous Internet products for merchants who desire to advertise and sell their products or services on the World Wide Web.

Electronic Clearing House purchased a complement of high-powered personal-computer servers, firewall security, and associated hardware and software systems from Mr. Thomas. With this new technology, the company will provide a full range of Internet merchant services and electronic mall type programs to its existing merchants and merchants at large.

Mr. Thomas had been president of XYNet, a consulting firm that specializes in Internet access for businesses. He earlier held high-level management positions with Unisys Corp., where he focused primarily on the development of distributed systems.

Mr. Slater, 35, was president of Slater Research, a technical consulting firm.
