Tech bytes: Home Banking Added To Goldleaf's Software

Goldleaf Technologies Inc. has added a home banking component to its line of electronic banking software known as CustomerLink.

Four banks are using the new software, which lets bank customers check account balances, transfer funds, and make loan payments using their PCs.

The software is designed for banks with less than $500 million in assets.

"The success of Goldleaf's home banking is directly related to the explosion in the use of PCs," said Richard T. Reid, executive vice president at First Guarantee Bank, Jacksonsville, Fla., which uses the software.

The other users of the home banking system are First Security Bank, Searcy, Ark.; First Waco National Bank in Texas; and Farmers State Bank, Marion, Iowa.

The CustomerLink product line features software for telephone banking, corporate cash management, home banking, and automated clearing house services.
